The ECODIGITAL project aims to promote the dissemination of knowledge regarding European legislation on the digital economy, with a specific focus on the free movement and protection of personal data, including in the context of Artificial Intelligence, and on the European Data Strategy, with its significant implications for market governance, to ensure a competitive framework.

The backbone of this project is the teaching of Digital Economy Law, a university course in the legal field – held at the “Marco Biagi” Department of Economics of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE) – which focuses on the regulatory acts aimed at regulating the European digital society.

Building on this foundation, the project aims to create a “knowledge hub” by pursuing two main objectives:

1) establishing synergies with other non-legal departments of UNIMORE and other universities, in order to examine the different profiles of the digital economy through a multidisciplinary approach;

2) disseminating knowledge of the European regulatory framework among citizens, businesses (specifically SMEs), and policy-makers.

The project is co-funded for the three-year period 2025-2027 by the European Union as a Jean Monnet Module, within the framework of the Erasmus+ program (project code 101174781 — ECODIGITAL)
